I'm a former manager who used to create cover letters and resumes for clients. My advice is to always exude confidence when you apply for new jobs. Instead of comments like "I hope to hear from you soon," try, "I look forward to chatting with you soon. Does Tuesday work?"

(I'm not saying you aren't doing that now - just offering some general tips)
