Yeah, I got a bit triggered by a video I saw on Facebook today. I know poverty isn’t a contest, but I was thinking, wow, this lady really hasn’t experienced poverty.

She made a video about growing up lower class (I think that’s the term she used?), and it was about how poor she was. She said she was so poor that her mother packed lunches in plastic bags with old food containers (like a hard boiled egg in a sour cream container).

I was so poor that I was on the free lunch program. And my mother would’ve never packed a lunch for me even if she was around.

I just have to remind myself that everyone has a different perception of poverty or being poor. Sometimes it’s hard, though.
