When the World Gets Overwhelming, Tackle One Problem at a Time
As I scrolled through Pinterest, a vibrant watercolor design caught my attention. Bold black letters stretched across the Pin, spelling out advice I didn’t realize I needed.
You can do anything, but you can’t do everything.
I took a sip from my water bottle and thought about the hectic week I’d had. A struggling single mom I’ve known for years was quarantined with COVID. With her consent, I posted about the situation on Facebook. The response was better than I expected, and I spent all weekend driving back and forth across town to collect donations for her family.
I’m always happy to help a friend or neighbor in need, but the weekend wore me out. In addition to collecting donations, I had to take my kids to soccer games and end-of-season team celebrations. I also had to run my usual errands, write a few articles, complete stacks of paperwork, tackle schoolwork, and clean my house.
Today I finally remembered to get the lab work done that my doctor ordered in July. It’s almost September. I had blood drawn after picking up my kids from two separate cities and then driving them to appointments in the opposite direction. During their appointments…
