This is one of the best things I ever did. I've made some amazing friends and gotten great gigs from networking with fellow writers, but I've also learned important career skills.

It was an editor-turned-friend who helped me 10 years ago with his detailed feedback. He wasn't obligated to provide a thorough explanation for why he accepted or rejected each piece, but he did anyway. It helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses as a writer so I could work on nurturing them both.

I've also learned about grammar courses, writing seminars, and other helpful tools from my writer buddies. We celebrate together when we score a new gig or write a great piece, and we cry together when burnout strikes. I'm so thankful for the writers I've met over the years.

I mainly write memoirs, essays, wellness articles, and flash fiction. Thanks for joining me, whether you're here for fiction or nonfiction! :)
