I’ve Been Spoiled by Restaurant Deals During the Pandemic

On Friday, I discovered a local Mexican restaurant offers a DoorDash value pack. For $23.50, you get 10 tacos, burritos, or enchiladas loaded with your favorite meat. We chose chicken, if you were wondering. You also get your choice of three sides, so we went with rice and a double serving of potatoes.

The restaurant included a bag packed with tortilla chips, plus a drink-sized container of salsa. There was a ton of food, and it took us days to finish it. We were elated.

I told a family member about the deal, and she filled me in on the O’Charley’s deal she got last week. For $29.99, you get enough entrees and sides for six people. There’s also a Panda Express deal for $20 that features three entrees and two sides. Many pizza places are offering BOGO deals where you get two pizzas for the price of one.

And let’s not forget the Texas Roadhouse family pack for $19.99. I’m not a big meat eater, but my kids are dying to get steaks or hamburgers there. I’ll probably cave and order soon since you also get a salad and four sides. I need more mashed potatoes in my life.

Thanks to these restaurant deals, we’re ordering takeout more than ever. I used to be a food blogger who prepared everything from scratch, so my kids aren’t used to visiting restaurants regularly. Neither am I.
