It sure does. When I first joined Medium, I thought I’d earn a bunch of money quickly. I had tons of experience with similar sites, like Squidoo, the old eHow, and Hubpages. I also used to run a food blog that brought in $500 to $1000 during the good months.

I’ve had triple digit months at Medium, but I’ve also had months where I’ve earned less than $20. I’m still learning more about Medium each day.
