I needed to see this today. Several of my kids are part of the community, and honestly, I was shocked. I figured the odds were low of having one child in the community, but then when I found out I had multiple? It was a shock.
I'm happy for them and support them. I was just shocked because I was brought up to believe that being part of the LGBTQIA+ community was rare. I'm learning this isn't true anymore. If the rate is 7%, that means nearly 1 in 10 people (I'm rounding since I assume it's higher than 7% due to people who can't safely share their identities yet).
