Hi Brad, it sounds like you’re on the right track. I need some more info so I can help you.

You say you aren’t making enough to survive. What is your monthly goal? How much do you need to survive?

Which content mill tests have you failed? I can try to help you get on at one of my favorite mills if you want, but I need to see if you’ve already failed the test there. I don’t get a referral bonus or anything, so I’m not doing this for personal gain. I promise they have more than just listicles lol. I mostly write about personal finance there.

Content companies often offer their best work via private orders or off-platform projects. Keep that in mind if you ever see a queue filled with junk articles.

I don’t rewrite essays either. I find it unethical.

Here’s an article I wrote on pitching magazines. It’s short, but it might help you. Let me know if it doesn’t, and I’ll try to offer more guidance. You may also find 155 Ways Writers Can Earn Money helpful.

Sometimes the careers you’ve mentioned require industry connections. Have you tried networking with other writers? If not, maybe start interacting with editors on Twitter. My writer buddy does this, and he also finds contact info on LinkedIn. This helps him land some great gigs.

Keep reaching out for help like you did when you commented on my post. Some writers will ignore you, but there are many who will help. Good luck, and keep me updated on your progress if you’d like.
