Ah, no worries. I understand how my other piece could have easily made me seem like a total jerk.

I agree that the pickiest clients are usually the cheapest. Whenever I pick up work at sites like Textbroker, I notice the clients with 10 pages of instructions are usually the same ones offering a penny a word. These are also the ones who try to sneak in extras like “Make sure you add 10 photos and then create a chart in the middle of the article.”

Back when Upwork was still oDesk, I had an awesome client who paid me $250 for 300-word press releases. He had minimal requirements for his pieces, and he always loved everything I produced (and I suspect he would have loved a different writer’s work just as much). Too bad every client can’t be a gem like him.
